Next Bargaining Changed to 9/16/08

The date of the next session has been changed from 9/9/08 to 9/16/08 (Tuesday) at the Oxford Suites.

Heath, the union's accountant, and Charlie, the union's chief negotiator met with Enloe's Chief Financial Officer, Chris Sarrico, in an attempt to find out why the administration's 24% increase over 'base cost' was 2 or so million dollars off from the union members' figures for the latest suggested wage scale.

They were not very successful as all they heard from the CFO was, "Those are the numbers," with not an explanation of how or why the administration came up with less than they had previously said the hospital had to put into the pot. Heath tried to go over the numbers with Sarrico, but she would have none of it. He wanted to show how the union came up with their figures, but got no cooperation or interest in management listening. He was quite upset as the sides were so far apart when the administration had already said that our offer of 24% over base cost was fair and "in the ball park." We will see what happens next time.
