Bargaining 8/19/08
The management team said they would need to take the scale and run it by Enloes CFO, Christine Sarrico, to crunch the numbers and then get back with us.
Our bargaining team met with the federal mediator and gave him our latest wage scale concept to take to management. His suggestion was that we take a small contingent with him to answer any questions administration might have. He said, what we need to do is to get on the same page with management as to how this wage scale costs out. The mediator, along with John the head of the unions hospital division, Heath a union researcher and accountant, plus one of our service units bargaining team members met with the Enloe administrations team to answer any concerns they might have.
Following that meeting the administration team then spent part of the morning evaluating our plan. The mediator met with them again and came back with some more concerns for our bargaining team to review. We did so, returning with our readjustments for management who had more questions, which we addressed.
The management team said they would need to take the scale and run it by Enloes CFO, Christine Sarrico, to crunch the numbers and then get back with us. This will be done at the next meeting scheduled for 9/3/08, which is the first date that management and the mediator said they would be able to meet together with our bargaining team.
As you can see everything is happening through the mediator, who acts as a go-between for management and the service units team. It appears that we had answered the concerns of administration which was acknowledged by them to the mediator and our contingent before we ended the day. We will continue next time.
We welcome anyone who would like to come to our next session on 9/3/08 to see what happens and get a firsthand look at the process. It will most likely be at the Marriot Courtyard, but if there is any change we will let people know.
