About the Next Bargaining Session on Tuesday, 8/19/08

To all:

I was told today that the team will meet at the Oxford Suites this Tuesday for the next round of negotiations with the independent mediator and management.

There was a breakthrough last time when management admitted that there is more cash to add to the wage pool. This would be a good...no...a great time for us all to get together and work to get this contract rapped up. Tell your coworkers, who can come, to try and be there as it will affect us all; not only the service department, but the whole hospital. When we get the standards that we deserve, our other coworkers will benefit. How? If we do well, it will perhaps push others to want to get on board.

We already have been offered free insurance. Granted, it is not the plan that most wanted, but it is at least a start. If we get the classic plan at a reduced rate, it will be even better. So let's have all the bargaining team there no matter how we feel about what has happened collectively or personally. It's about more than egos and personal feelings. We have to be united in our efforts to get this baby put to bed. It could be a very important meeting no matter how it comes out. We have worked hard for this and deserve it to ourselves and our coworkers to be there. Please and thank you.
