Good People at Enloe

Bottom line is, it’s all about people’s lives – patient and employee.

Where’s Enloe’s greatness? Is it in the buildings? They’re only stucco and steel. They have no emotions, no pride in a job well done or a patient healed. That comes from dedicated staff and the care and concern they deliver. Neither do these structures hire, fire, lay off, outsource or affect employee morale. That is doled out by our Board of Directors and Administrators.

Bottom line is, it’s all about people’s lives – patient and employee. What is needed is real attention for safety and morale that can’t be improved by ignoring staffing and their concerns. It can’t be bettered by outside consultants costing millions and laying waste to staff, or by others brought in to improve the equation for both sides of the health care experience at Enloe Medical Center.

We all need to see that something needs to be done, and ignoring unfair treatment is not the answer. There have been some administrative missteps and employee anger; admit it or not. So, love it or leave, not withstanding, they who stay and fight are the real lovers of life, compassion, and those in their charge. No matter what the service, be it medical, clerical, nutritional or a clean room, we all want what’s best for patients, community, staff and hospital. It’s about people not places. We can do it.
